Cookie Policy

Cookies policy for the website visitors

This Cookie Policy is drafted in accordance with current legislation on the protection of personal data (European Regulation 679/2016 and related Guidelines) and supplements the information made through the Privacy Policy. It aims to describe the types of cookies and any other similar technologies used on the site.

HOLDER AND CONTACTS

The Data Controller is Simec Group Srl with headquarters in Via Verga 17 – 21057 Olgiate Olona (VA). For any information, please write to privacy@simecgroup.com

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT COOKIES

Cookies are short text files, made up of letters and/or numbers, which allow the web server to memorize on the client (the user’s Internet browser) information necessary to navigate on the site or to be used again later, during subsequent visits. Cookies are stored by the browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone), according to the preferences expressed by the user.

Types of cookies

It is possible to classify cookies according to their duration:

– Session cookies – expire at the end of a browser session, usually when the browser is closed, and are used to maintain an active browsing session on the site and the use of its features

– Persistent cookies – are stored for a longer period of time (so they persist even if the session is closed) and are useful, for example, to remember browsing preferences (language, device, browser, etc.) or to propose customized content

Another feature concerns the origin of cookies, which can be:

– First-party – they are installed by the site itself

– Third party – they are installed by a different domain (e.g. in the event that the site includes other services, such as advertising providers or providers of analytical tools)

Finally, cookies can be distinguished according to their purpose:

– Technical or necessary cookies

– Functionality or preference cookies

– Analytical, statistical and performance cookies

– Marketing or profiling cookies

Technical cookies can be used without the user’s consent, as they are necessary to carry out certain operations that otherwise would be more complex and/or less secure. First and third party analytical cookies also fall into this category, but only under these conditions: they are used for aggregate statistics (without identifying the user) and refer to a single site or app; in the case of third party cookies, at least the fourth component of the IP address must be masked; the third party cannot combine minimized analytical cookies with other processing (e.g. customer files or statistics of visits to other sites) nor can it transmit them to other third parties.

Functionality or preference cookies allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example: language, geographic area, device used, browser type, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the same. These cookies are not necessary for the operation of the site, so prior consent should be asked for their installation.

Analytical or statistical cookies are used to improve navigation on the site through the analysis of user activity in an anonymous form (e.g. number of users on a page, number of times the page has been visited by the user, how long the user stays on the page, etc.). They are also called performance cookies, and as mentioned above can be assimilated to technical cookies if configured with reduced identification power (in which case they do not require prior consent and it is possible to keep them always active).

Marketing or profiling cookies make it possible to track navigation on the site by identified or identifiable subjects in order to analyze the way users navigate, their behavior, the purchases they have made and thus create a profile of the user or place him/her in a homogeneous cluster. In this way, the Owner will be able to optimize its site and modulate the service in a more personalized way, as well as send targeted advertising messages, in line with the preferences expressed by the user during navigation. Of course, these cookies are not necessary for the operation of the site and a specific consent is required for their installation.

Finally, there are specific cookies for Social Networks, which allow the user to share the contents of the site on their social profile. When a page contains this command, a direct link is established with the selected Social Network (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).

Cookie consent rules

If the site uses cookies, other than technical ones, a banner of adequate size and immediate appearance must be implemented. It must contain:

– Summary information on the use of cookies on the site

– Link to the complete privacy policy

– Command to close the banner without giving consent

– Command to accept all cookies

– Link to another section to choose analytically which cookies to accept

The cookies could also be completely deactivated at browser level by using the appropriate function provided in most browsing programs. It is good to know, however, that by deactivating cookies some of the functions of a site may not be usable, in particular the services provided by third parties such as: YouTube videos (or other video sharing services), social network buttons, Google maps.

We report below the links to the information of the main browsers for more information on the total deactivation of cookies.

For the settings of any other web browsers not listed above, please refer to the documentation or online help of the relevant browser for further information. We would like to point out that the Owner acts as a technical intermediary for the links contained in this document and cannot assume any responsibility in the event of any modification.

USE OF COOKIES ON THIS SITE

This Site uses technical and functional cookies, both session-related and persistent. These cookies are used to manage the user interface (e.g. to record the preferences expressed by the user such as language, page display format, connection area), to improve the usability of the site and its audio-visual content, for the correct functioning of the connection.

The site also uses third-party analytical cookies, in particular the Google Analytics service, which helps the owner to understand how visitors interact with the contents of the site itself, to obtain statistical reports on site activity, to verify which the most viewed pages are. Data are processed by the owner in an aggregate and minimized form.

More information on Google Analytics cookies is available at this address: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245

There are also cookies from the YouTube platform, owned by Google, which are necessary for the sharing of presentation videos embedded in the site. The cookies are set when accessing the pages containing the video embed, and do not allow the user to be identified unless he/she is already logged in with his/her Google user.  YouTube’s “enhanced privacy” option is also enabled, so that viewing the video does not affect the viewer’s browsing experience on YouTube.

The full list of cookies used by the site can be found at the bottom of this policy statement and will be updated as changes occur.

The Owner may also communicate the data to other subjects who will act as autonomous owners, for the execution of obligations provided for by law or investigation activities (e.g. public bodies, judicial authorities, police, etc.).

Rights of the interested parties

Data subjects may contact the Data Controller by sending an email to privacy@simecgroup.com to exercise the rights granted to data subjects under Articles 15-22 of the GDPR. We recall in particular the right to access their data, to total cancellation, restriction of processing, obtaining a copy of the data, revocation of the consent provided. Finally, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Autorità di Controllo Italiana – Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) – Piazza Venezia 11 – 00187 Roma – urp@gpdp.it.
