“Leonardo Series” engravings are all made by fiber lasers with different powers and by using different optics and softwares.
Simec has several equipments of this type with powers from 100 to 500 watts and engraving heads with multi-hit or multi-beam technology.
Being equipped with last generation equipments is not in itself a guarantee for good anilox production. Nowadays engraving equipments are so versatile that engravers can chose either to produce high-quality anilox or to produce at high speeds.
To obtain high-quality engravings the laser must hit several times the ceramic coating in the same position in order to get a homogeneous and well defined surface and a regular cell profile for a proper ink release.
This is the reason why it is always advisable to ask for specific certifications concerning the cell structure as we have been doing for years with every roller produced which is inspected by interferometer during the final step of quality control before it leaves our premises.
